Liverpool – Milan: Match in pictures
Mohamed Salah showed his dedication at Liverpool as he enjoyed the calm 3 am in the pool after the Reds’ win over AC Milan.
Anfield opened their Champions League campaign with a thrilling 3-2 victory over the Italians.
Salah continued his impressive start to the season as he scored the equalizer to make it 2-2 as he made up for a missed penalty earlier in the first half.
All the talk after the match was about the importance of the Egyptian winger to Liverpool and how Jurgen Klopp needs to get his prized assets to strike a new deal, with two years remaining on his current contract, amid reports of talks stalling.

Salah has continued to ignore the noise surrounding his future and focus on what he does on the pitch by being the main man for the Reds so far this season.
And what he did after the champions’ victory over Milan showed once again that he was not interested in any of the distractions off the pitch.
Salah posted a photo on his Instagram account, swimming at three in the morning on Thursday morning, recovering from the high-octane match.

Michael Owen believes Liverpool will tie Salah to a new deal despite the breakdown of negotiations.
The former Anfield striker said on BT Sport: “I think his deal is more complicated than the others because he is the main scorer and the big profit.
“I imagine his contract is the most complicated because it will probably be his last big contract. From the club’s point of view, I know everyone says, ‘Give him what he wants.’ But the fans don’t really want that.
“You need structure. If you give Salah twice as much as Van Dijk does, there could suddenly be a problem in camp.

“We’ve seen a lot of cases like this over the years, mainly at Arsenal. Aubameyang was just given what he wanted and now look…
“It’s his last big contract, he’s not going to move and he’s at all he’s been in for the week. It’s not that easy. I think you have to maintain some respect and parity without the club.
“It’s probably going to be Liverpool’s biggest win because I think they’ll find a way. There’s no word that they’re miles away so I think it will be done but I think Liverpool are right to make it as reasonable as possible.”
