Manchester United player ratings: Eric Bailly fit but Alex Telles poor against West Ham – Samuel Lockhurst

[ad_1]

Dean Henderson

Unable to block Manuel Lanzini’s opening goal and he didn’t have much to do other than that. Two big saves late kept United in it. 7

Diogo Dalot

Proactive and determined to put the United Right-Back average center forward. Don’t get defensive too much. 6

Victor Lindelof

The ball rebounded from him because of Lanzini’s strike. Bailey completed reasonably well, except for a poor start which West Ham capitalized on. 5

Eric Bailey

A fantastic comeback on his first appearance with the club this season. There were unnecessary accidental risks but it was pretty much safe. 7

Alex Such

He ran back and showed up. He was whipped before Ryan Fredericks toasted him to the target. It doesn’t look quite decent. 4

Nemanja Matic

He proceeded for one run that almost resulted in a goal in the first half but he looked long in the second and his passes became sloppy. 5

Donnie Van de Beek

Put himself in place from deep passes and play them in an orderly fashion. Mason Greenwood brilliantly found a great opportunity. 90 minutes to boost morale. 6

Jadon Sancho

He was quiet often yet when shifting between gears he was a threat. More active in the second half but another quiet night. 5

Juan Mata

It’s a pity he didn’t score when Alphonse Areola rolled his effort across the crossbar. Paved the way for younger legs at Mason Greenwood. 6

Jesse Lingard

Bright and should have had a penalty kick when Noble pulled him off. Tying play well without a real chance in goal. 6

Anthony Martial

There was an accidental threat in the first half but he lacked the presence and power of Edinson Cavani, let alone Cristiano Ronaldo. 4

Mason Greenwood

Record almost immediately. 6

Bruno Fernandez

I tried so hard. 5

Anthony Elanga

Slotted in at left back position. 5

boss

He picked a team strong enough to win but the one risky return backfired with Telles. He should have taken Marshall instead of Mata. 5
