England manager Gareth Southgate has hinted that Luke Shaw may be available for Manchester United against Everton on Saturday at lunchtime.
The former Southampton player was included in the Three Lions squad announced on Thursday, despite being forced out against Aston Villa.
Shaw missed the final moments of the midweek win over Villarreal in the Champions League.
Alex Telles played and scored at left-back in his absence – but while Shaw was initially expected to be on the bench, the 26-year-old was omitted from the match-day squad altogether as Cristiano Ronaldo recalled the heroic late events at Old Trafford.

United returned to Premier League matches at the same venue on Saturday afternoon (12:30pm).
Meanwhile, Southgate spoke about Shaw and his condition after revealing details of the England squad that sees United captain Harry Maguire out due to injury.
Shaw, though, was included in two imminent World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Hungary.
During his press conference, Southgate said: “Obviously they’re still showing up for their clubs, so there’s an unknown element to that, but what we understand is that Mason [Mount] and ris [James] You have a good chance to go to the weekend.

“We’ll have to track that. I think Luke was sick more than anything. That was our understanding. We won’t play until next Saturday, our first game, so there’s some time and we’ll know more this week as he progresses in all of those situations.”
Assessing his chances ahead of Villarreal, club director Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: “Luke was there today, so I’m going to give him a chance to participate, he hasn’t trained with the team. So maybe the best case scenario is if he joins us on the bench.”
