The latest James Bond movie left the UK and Ireland box office shaky and moving over its opening weekend, grossing £25m in three days.
No Time To Die broke the UK record for the highest opening weekend of any entry in the nearly 60-year history of the Bond franchise, topping its predecessors Skyfall and Specter.
Universal Pictures has also confirmed that the series’ 25th installment – which marks Daniel Craig’s final outing as the iconic secret agent – has grossed £89 million internationally.
‘I’ve never regretted being James Bond’
This achievement is made even more impressive by the fact that No Time To Die won’t be released in China until the end of the month.
As a result, it is the first Hollywood blockbuster to make over $100m (£73m) in sales without such an important market.
No Time To Die will debut in cinemas across the United States and Canada on Friday.
While some studios have released films on streaming platforms at the same time they reach cinemas – a trend accelerated by the coronavirus pandemic – Universal and MGM have chosen to release the film exclusively in cinemas.

It is estimated that No Time to Die cost $200m to produce (£146m).
Cinemas were initially supposed to arrive in April 2020, as most of the world went into lockdown, and the release date was pushed back three times due to the pandemic.
