Kim Kardashian West showed that she was happy to make fun of herself during her first Saturday Night Live appearance, sparking jokes about her divorce from Kanye, a leaked sex tape and OJ Simpson.

The reality TV star, who appeared on Sketch in the US, said she had ended her relationship with rapper Kanye West because of his “personality”.

Kardashian West took to stage in a pink jumpsuit, opening the show with a nod to the intimate video that launched her career.

“I know, I’m surprised to see you here too,” she said in her monologue.

The socialite and billionaire businesswoman has targeted her husband, Kanye West, and her ex-husband, Caitlin, both of whom failed in their recent endeavors to hold political office.

“I’m not running for president – we can’t have three failed politicians in this family,” Kardashian West said.

The criminal justice advocate said she was thrilled to follow in the footsteps of her father, Robert Kardashian, who represented OJ Simpson during his 1995 murder trial.

Kardashian West joked that her dad was the first to introduce her to a black person – and asked the audience to “take a stab in the dark to see who it was.”

Referring to the ongoing mystery surrounding the deaths of Simpson’s ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman, she added, “OJ doesn’t leave a mark — or several — or nothing at all, I still don’t know.”
