Jesse Nelson is said to be devastated at how things went wrong between her and her former bandmates.

In recent days, there has been a toxic feud between the singer and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall after Jesy released her first single since leaving the band.

Jesy’s new song got people talking — for all the wrong reasons — with several social media users accusing the chart top of black poaching, a term referring to someone who pretends to be black or mixed race.

Leigh-Anne was then accused of including Jesy in leaked DMs sent to Instagram user No Hun.

NoHun asked fans if he should perform a routine for Jesy’s first single and Leigh-Anne replied, “No.”

The leaked SMS appears to show Lee-Ann encouraging the influencer to drop Jesse down in a video, calling her “appalling.”

Then, Jesy was criticized by Little Mix fans as they accused her of sitting down and laughing while Nicki Minaj went on an explosive rant on Leigh-Anne’s Instagram Live account.

Nicky called Lee-Ann “jealous” and a “clown” and Jesse failed to defend her former bandmate.

Now, she tells an insider close to Jesse, the Essex native, she feels the backlash is a “personal attack against her”.

The former X Factor star is reported to be upset about turning into a “Little Mix vs. Jesse story” and considers it a “disgrace”.

A source told Metro: “What should have been a positive, happy celebration is somewhat tainted by what is beginning to feel like a personal attack on her.

They added, “It started to turn into a story of Little Mix vs. Jesse, while the band and Jesse at the end have always championed women who are supportive of women, so it’s a shame to see this take such a bad turn.”

Responding to the accusations of lion hunting, they added that she was “shattered” and “understands that she has a lot of learning to do.”

Jesse Nelson left the band in December of last year.

She revealed that the stress of being on set affected her “mental health” when she shared the news to fans.

She announced her sudden departure on her Instagram page after announcing that she had been taking an extended leave of absence from the group the previous month.

She wrote to her 7.3 million followers that she was leaving with a sad heart as she reflected on the success Little Mix had had since winning The X Factor in 2011.

Jesse Bened: “For all my Mixers, the past nine years at Little Mix have been the most incredible time of my life.

“We’ve achieved things I never thought were possible. From winning our first Brit to our out-of-stock offerings at O2.

“You have always been there to support and encourage me and I will never forget him.”

She went on to reveal the reason behind the decision to leave the band.

She has since started on her own – but the video for her new song has sparked accusations of lionfish

Jesse added, “The fact that the band has been around recently really affected my mental health. I find it very difficult to be in a girl group and to live up to expectations.

“There comes a time in life when we need to reinvest in taking care of ourselves rather than focusing on pleasing others, and I feel like it’s time to start the process.

“I need to spend time with the people I love, and do things that make me happy. I’m ready to start a new chapter in my life – I’m not sure what it will look like now, but I hope you’ll still be there to support me.”

“Most of all I would like to say thank you to Jed, Perry, and Lee Ann for creating some of the most amazing memories I will ever forget. I hope you continue to make all your dreams come true and continue to make the music that people love. I love Jesse.”

In a separate statement published by Little Mix, the three remaining members, Jade, Perrie and Leigh-Anne, responded to their bandmate’s words.

They wrote: “After 9 wonderful years together, Jesse has made the decision to leave Little Mix. This is a very sad time for all of us, but we fully support Jesse.

“We love her very much and agree that it is very important that she does what is appropriate for her mental health and well-being. We are still very much enjoying our Little Mix ride and the three of us are not ready for that on.”

The girl group, who rose to fame on The X Factor, added, “We know Jesy leaving the group will be really upsetting news for our fans. We love you so much and are so grateful for their loyalty and continued support to all of us.

“We look forward to seeing so many of you on tour.

“Love always, Jade, Perry and Lee Ann xxx.”
