Deontay Wilder has been suspended for six months after his 11th-round knockout defeat to Tyson Fury last weekend.
The 35-year-old American fell to the ground three times before he was finally stopped by the British and taken to hospital after the fight.
He was released from hospital later on Saturday night with a broken finger and has been suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission until April unless a doctor clears him.
Fury was granted 45-day regulatory suspension after his victory – his first defense of his world heavyweight title.
Wilder has now suffered back-to-back defeats at the hands of Fury after being unbeaten in 43 matches.
However, despite the two losses, new Wilder coach Malik Scott doesn’t expect the big-hitting American to retire from the sport.
“Deontay has put his family in financial safety so he doesn’t have to fight for a living,” Scott told iFL TV. “But retirement is not in his plans at all and it’s not something we discussed.”
Meanwhile, Fury is now back in England where he is enjoying some time with his family after his exciting win.
It has not yet been confirmed who will face the WBC Champion next, but he is expected to face mandatory contender Dillian White in the early part of 2022.
But Whyte still isn’t sure if Fury would accept a fight against him.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, he said: “Fury has the belt. Wilder had the chance to fight me for three years but didn’t. Now I hope the WBC will impose my position and Fury has no choice. It’s a huge British fight, a major fight for Britain.”
Anger is an unpredictable man who may say, ‘I’m done! “I hope we can have a fight when I get past Wallin. But anger is a difficult man to plan. I haven’t heard a word from him about getting into a fight.”
