Roberto Firmino played a key role in Liverpool winning the Champions League and Premier League during Jurgen Klopp’s tenure.
What Firmino brings to Liverpool is unique and does not have many forwards in personal world football to do what he did.
But, having recently turned 30, and with less than two years remaining on his contract, finding long-term replacements for the Brazilian should be at the forefront of minds at Anfield.
The signing of Diogo Jota in the summer of 2020 indicates that Michael Edwards and his partners are already doing so.

But replacing Firmino, who has only made one start to the season this season, would be easier said than done.
While there are interesting options, and one in particular, the Reds may opt for something different once they decide it is time to replace their number nine, with Ligue 1 Lille’s Jonathan David, having previously been linked.
And on the final episode of Analyzing Anfield, Josh Williams talks about what Liverpool might do when the time comes.
“Given how special Firmino is, I’m not sure Liverpool will go after him to replace him,” said football survey writer Williams.
“It’s unique and doesn’t actually score very much.
“Liverpool will probably be looking for a player who can deliver more (in terms of goals). We know that’s not really Firmino’s responsibility and Klopp has said in the past that teams are like an orchestra and need different players to play different instruments.
“I am not sure that Liverpool will be looking for another Firmino. Statistically, according to last year, the most statistically comparable player to Firmino in the top five leagues in Europe is Antoine Griezmann. But I can’t see that happening.
“The second one is Gabriel Jesus, funny enough, which is not going to happen. And then there is a player there called Amine El Guiry, who plays for Nice in Ligue 1. He starred at Lyon when he is very young.”
After Lyon, Al-Quwairi moved for £7m in the summer of 2020 to Nice, where he scored 21 goals in 50 appearances.

Looks like Karim Benzema, and is said to be wanted by Zinedine Zidane when the French legend was in charge of Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappe is also a fan of Al Quwairi.
Paris Saint-Germain star Mbappe said recently: “I watch almost all Ligue 1 matches… I follow Nice closely. Guerre is not really bad at all!”
Williams continued: “He’s still just a kid but I wouldn’t be surprised if Liverpool knew about him and generally followed him.
“He’s a player that I’ve thought about reporting on this podcast before, just in terms of the option to explore and who looks good.

“He is 21 and last season with Nice he scored 12 goals and assisted seven. So far this season he has scored five goals and assisted three. He has been considered a big possibility for a few years now.
“But when it comes to replacing Firmino, I think Liverpool could go the way of Jonathan David.
“I think they’ll go down the path of someone who can find the net a bit more.”
David is the joint top scorer in the French Ligue 1 with six goals in nine matches with Al-Quwairi, just one goal behind five.
