The Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said it arrived at the scene at 11.57 a.m. on Friday with two fire engines and a heavy rescue unit, in response to a road traffic collision.
Wiltshire Police and the Department of Defense were also present at the scene, along with the hazardous area response team, made up of specialized paramedics trained in dealing with critical incidents, according to Wiltshire Today.
According to Ministry of Defense statistics, 150 members of the British Armed Forces were killed in military exercises from January 2000 to August 2021.
Less than 6% of all deaths in the British Armed Forces occur during training. The data includes deaths related to disease, and deaths from injuries, or for which the cause is not yet known.
