Jurgen Klopp addresses Mohamed Salah’s future goal as people ‘begin to see’ Liverpool’s impact

Jurgen Klopp has hailed Mohamed Salah as the best player in the world – and believes the Liverpool striker can continue to improve.

Salah capped off a superb solo performance with another superb individual goal as the Reds triumphed 5-0 in the Premier League over Watford on Saturday.

The Egyptian, who has scored 10 goals in several matches this season, also set Sadio Mane’s first goal with an assist.

With controversy erupting over Salah’s standing after his infamous attempt against Manchester City earlier this month, Klopp has no doubts about the player’s standings at the moment.

“He is definitely one of the best players in the world at the moment,” said the Reds boss.

“It is not about me saying who is the best. But for me it is the best.

“I see him every day and that probably makes it easier for me. But there are Lewandowski and people like that, Ronaldo still scores like crazy, Messi still manages to deliver world class performances.

And others will come. But at the moment, he’s definitely at the top of that list.”

While Roberto Firmino scored a second hat-trick of his career at Anfield as Liverpool extended their unbeaten run to 20 matches, Salah was the stellar performer in the match.

Klopp explained how the 29-year-old’s desire is pushing him to even greater heights.

“He’s been at this level for a while,” the Liverpool boss said. “He’s getting better, he’s at an age where he can get better and he’s doing it constantly.

“I saw the first goal he put for Sadio was a great pass, he brought that in from summer break because he started doing that kind of thing.

“The consistency it offers, people are probably starting to see now. But it has always been there.

“He’s played with us for five seasons now and it’s just amazing the way he’s been doing since he’s been here.

“He’s been in the top five in the world since he was at Liverpool and now he’s the best at the moment.

“The important thing with Messi and Ronaldo is that no one doubted that for years. But Mo is at the top for years too and there is still a lot to come from him because of his desire.

“He just wants to perform at a high level.”
