New Newcastle United owner Amanda Staveley took the opportunity to experience the city’s famous nightlife on Saturday night before taking her seat at St James’ Park for Sunday’s game against Tottenham.

Earlier this month, after what seemed like eternal speculation, the acquisition of NUFC by businesswoman Amanda of CP Capital Partners, along with PIF and Reuben Brothers, was finally confirmed, sparking raucous celebrations in Tyneside.

After a week of excitement over the club’s new era, it’s time for Steve Bruce’s men to return to action on the pitch against their opponent in London on Sunday.

But not before Amanda and husband of Iranian businessman Mehrdad Qudoussi had a chance to hit the bright lights in Toon on Saturday.

The pair drew a lot of oomph when they left the Quayside haunt Aveika, after enjoying a meal there, before hopping in a cab for a 30-second trip down the street to haunt neighboring Livello.

The couple stayed at the recently refurbished late night hunt until just past midnight.

The nightclub security stopped the customers and made the entrance open to welcome the new owners of the clubs and drove them straight to the VIP area.

After visiting Livello, they also had drinks at the top – the new rooftop bar atop The Vermont, which offers stunning views of Newcastle.

The couple returned to the hotel around 12:30 AM in a taxi.

After a bit of sleep, Amanda headed to St James’ Park to see her new side sitting behind Ant and Dec who were full of excitement for the game.

Unfortunately, while the Magpies got off to a dream start, thanks to a goal from Callum Wilson just two minutes later, Spurs took a 3-1 lead in the first half and the score stayed that way until the final minutes when Eric had Dier netted to make the final score 2- 3.

Before the match, which saw him and Amanda receiving a standing ovation from the St James fans, Mehrdad tweeted: “Very excited and hopefully 3 points.

“But remember, today is bigger than that, today is about a new beginning, new hope and a brighter future. Let’s enjoy it and celebrate Newcastle United.”
