Piers Morgan has quit his Life Stories interview series, and ITV has already found his replacement.

The show’s final episode will air before the end of this year with Morgan’s former Good Morning Britain co-star, Kate Garraway.

After that season, Garraway will take Morgan’s place as host of the show for the last three episodes, which will air in early 2022.

He confirmed the news on Twitter on Thursday (October 21), writing: “Breaking news: I’m leaving Life Stories after 12 years and 100 shows.

“It will be my last show with my awesome friend @kategarraway and she will then present the remaining three shows of the next series as I leave ITV to host my new world daily show. It was a blast!”

Pierce has led the ITV show since it premiered in 2009, with interviewees including Sir Cliff Richard, Bake Off’s Mary Berry, Strictly Come Dancing’s Bruno Tonioli, The Apprentice’s Lord Alan Sugar and Caitlyn Jenner.

“I can’t think of anyone I’d better end running with,” said Pierce (via The Sun). “Kate has been a wonderfully loyal fellow during my five years at Good Morning Britain, and one of my favorite people in the world.”

The episode will likely center around Garraway’s public battle to help her husband Derek Draper through the long Covid.

“How you handled the devastating situation with Derek sums it up,” Pierce added. “She will be as great on Life Stories as she is in everything else.”

Pierce and Kate Garraway worked together on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, before Pierce’s sudden departure in March after being criticized for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.
