Arsenal fans are delighted with Mikel Arteta’s squad for this evening’s Carabao Cup match with Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium, with Gabriel Martinelli taking the lead.

Arsenal are hoping to reach the quarter-finals of the cup competition by defeating their English Premier League rivals in north London.

After Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Aston Villa on Friday night, Mikel Arteta is determined to keep his side’s momentum going, as they look to go eight games unbeaten in all competitions.

With that, Arteta identified a strong lineup for the match, with this being his eleventh to face Leeds: Leno, Cedric, White, Holding, Kolasinac, Maitland-Niles, Elne, Pepe, Smith Roe, Martinelli, Nketiah. .

Speaking towards the end of last season, Arteta made clear Martinelli’s lack of playing time but insisted the striker still had a bright future at Arsenal.

When asked about Martinelli’s restricted minutes last season, Arteta responded: “When a team doesn’t win enough football matches, we always look for someone else to do it. But we can name some.”

“I respect that, and Gabe is doing a really good job. He’s doing better every day, and he’s getting the development right.

“We have to be a little patient with him but he has a bright future at the club and he will have all the opportunities he needs to show us how amazing he is and what career he can have with us.”

Arsenal face a totally unique challenge tonight, with Leeds perhaps the best team in the Premier League and outperforming nearly every team they encounter.

Arteta and Arsenal will have to do what they did to the Whites the last time they came to the Emirates Stadium, as the hosts won 4-2 when the two teams met face to face in north London in February. .
