It is reported that Zayn Malik broke up with his old girlfriend Gigi Hadid just as he denied “hitting” her mother Yolanda Hadid.

The former One Direction singer was forced to deny Yolanda’s allegations that he “hit her” during an argument recently.

Sources now claim that Zayn and model Gigi ended their relationship after six years, but are focused on joint parenting of their 13-month-old daughter Khai.

People reported that several insiders confirmed the breakup, with one telling the publication: “They are not together at the moment. Both are good parents though. They are both parents. Yolanda is of course very protective of Gigi. She wants the best for her daughter and grandson.

When the split and Yolanda’s allegations were approached, Gigi’s representative added: “Gigi focuses only on what is best for Khai. She asks for privacy during this time.

Zayn, 28, and Gigi, 26, first started dating in 2015 and had been on and off a few times before reuniting at the end of 2019.

The couple welcomed Khai in September 2020, and while the girl appears regularly on her parents’ social media, the couple decided not to reveal her face and only told the world her name in January 2021 as Gigi wrote “Mom Khai” in her Instagram bio.

On Thursday, TMZ reported that Yolanda, 57, was “seriously considering filing a police report” after Zayn “beaten” her. However, no police report was submitted.

Pillowtalk singer Zayn then addressed the allegations in an initial statement, shared on Twitter, which read, “As you all know, I’m a private person and desperately want to create a safe and private space for my daughter to grow up in,” he began. “A place where private family matters are not brought up on the world stage for everyone to embezzle.

In an effort to protect that space for her, I agreed not to contest allegations arising from an argument I had with a member of my partner’s family who entered our home while my partner had been away for several weeks.

This was and should have been a private matter but at the moment there seems to be a split and despite my efforts to return us to a quiet family environment that allows me to share my daughter in a way she deserves, this has been ‘leaked’ to the press.”

“I am hopeful though that I will heal all involved with the harsh words shared, and most importantly remain vigilant to protect Khai and give her the privacy she deserves,” concluded the singer.

He later issued another statement specifically about the ‘remarkable’ claim and said, ‘I vehemently deny hitting Yolanda Hadid and for the sake of my daughter I refuse to give any further details and I hope Yolanda reconsiders her false allegations and turns towards her.
