Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has expressed his outrage at “lies” in the fallout from Manchester United’s 5-0 win over Liverpool.
Paul Pogba allegedly posted a report on his social media accounts that he ignored Solskjaer after the humiliation was a “big lie” and that United’s official Twitter account endorsed Pogba’s post.
United’s board considered sacking Solskjaer in the wake of Liverpool’s humiliation – their third defeat in their last four Premier League games – but resisted because they had no succession plan.
In his pre-match press conference ahead of his trip to Tottenham on Saturday, Solskjaer said United’s players had ‘goed into the trenches’ in response to their fifth defeat in their last nine games.
When asked about his condition, Solskjaer replied: “Good, why shouldn’t I be? I talk to you a lot.” “It’s been a tough week, of course, we had to deal with the result and the performance against Liverpool, which we know wasn’t good enough and that’s something footballers have to deal with.

“That’s why we’re in this game, you have to look forward to the next game, make sure you’re ready for that game, and when you get to that next game, identify what was challenging and the problems earlier.
“We had a good week, a good week on the training ground, I have to say.
“We need a reaction and it is also my job to put the players in the right frame of mind, I am responsible for the reaction, the result and the performance. We worked on the pitch and worked on everything that needed to be sorted out for the footballer.
“It’s not just my frame of mind, it’s the approach, the strategy, the game plan, the tactics. Technically, we’ve had a good week and I feel the boys are ready to give their best, as they always do. Of course, nothing went into the plan (against Liverpool) and that didn’t It was close to our best.
“I suspect [the criticism] It affects everyone around us, I talked about it last week, I think Mikel Arteta said something about what we have to deal with, as managers in high-level situations, that’s what we’re used to.
“I am more focused than ever. I had players who came to me. For example, when Paul came to me, angry, we expect to be criticized, because the performance was not good enough, you hear about it from the right, left and center.
“We can’t accept when lies are made up. Paul told me what he put up on his social media account. We’re better than that, as a group, the culture is better here, the environment is better, when it’s blatant lies they have to stand up and say it, opinions and reports, good, but Don’t make lies about me.
“Players come in, fit professionals, come in, good people. Like I said, we have an environment in and around the place, we have a lot of respect for each other.
“When you get criticized like you are, you get into the trenches with your teammates, and that reaction you saw this week. Whatever this club was before, it’s about getting over the guts and self-confidence and staying together and this group did.”
