Leicester City host Arsenal for an early start in the Premier League, with both teams looking to boost their hopes of qualifying for next season’s Champions League by finishing fourth. The Foxes lead Arsenal only by goal difference in ninth place with the victory of either team to tie them with West Ham in fourth place.

Brendan Rodgers’ side advanced to the Carabao Cup quarter-finals midweek with a penalty shootout victory over Brighton, while their level in the league has improved recently too, after a slow start, including a late James Madison goal to seal Brentford. Extend their unbeaten streak in the league to four games.

The Gunners are slowly discovering their level and identity under Mikel Arteta as well, after they swept Aston Villa last Friday behind a shimmering display from Emile Smith Rowe. There has been renewed speculation linking Arteta with Barcelona since the sacking of Ronald Koeman, but the Spanish tactician remains content with life in the Emirates: “I am very happy at Arsenal and a pleasure to be here. Two halves, in some ways, although this was a very impressive opening period on the part of Mikel Arteta. They flew out of King Power’s traps and were in control with and without the ball, and went ahead with two goals in the space of 15 minutes thanks to two dominant trends in recent appearances: set goals and Emile Smith Rowe.

Arsenal looked very strong defensively in play overall, but it took two great saves from Ramsdale to keep Leicester in trouble, first from Iheanacho and then from Madison. If anything, despite their impressive overall play, it’s Ramsdale’s performance as the talk of the intermission!

At the other end, Tomiyasu does a fantastically good job of slipping and blocking Maddison across the ball to Vardy, who was exploding in the penalty area.
