Rapper Travis Scott speaks after eight people were killed during his Friday night concert.
Astroworld is a music festival founded by Scott and held in Houston on the former site of Six Flags Astroworld — this year being its third iteration, having been canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I am devastated by what happened last night,” he wrote on Twitter on Saturday.
“My prayers are to the families and everyone affected by what happened at Astroworld. PD in Houston has my full support as they continue to look at the tragic loss of life.
“I am committed to working with the Houston community to heal and support families in need.”
“Thank you Houston, the Fire Department and NRG Park for their immediate response and support.”

At least eight people were killed and many more were injured when a crowd rushed to the stage at the Astroworld Festival in NRG Park.
About 50,000 people attended.
The festival was created by the Houston-born rapper, who has a daughter with Kylie Jenner.
Houston Fire Chief Sam Peña told CNN Saturday morning that fans “for whatever reason started pushing and rushing toward the front of the stage, causing people to squeeze in the front.”
Peña said more than 300 people were treated at a field hospital set up near the festival.

Peña said 23 people were taken to hospitals, eight of whom died.
One of the patients is 10 years old, and the last checkup was in critical condition, Peña told CNN Saturday morning.
Peña said some patients were in cardiac arrest while being taken to hospitals. No other details of the injuries were immediately available.
He said the cause of death would be determined by the coroner.
