Manchester United’s Paul Pogba stands on crutches after sustaining a thigh injury while on international duty with France.

Pogba struggled with the injury in a training session on Monday evening and footage of the accident soon emerged. The 28-year-old was seen leaving the session accompanied by team doctor Frank Le Gall, after he appeared to be recovering from the pain after he fired a shot into the goal.

It was announced later on Tuesday that Pogba was withdrawing from the France squad for World Cup qualifiers.

“Paul Pogba was forced to withdraw from France’s upcoming matches in the Parc des Princes against Kazakhstan and against Finland in Helsinki,” a statement from the French Football Federation said.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is back in pressure as Manchester United coach. The Reds’ win over Spurs was quickly forgotten as they suffered a terrible 2-0 defeat in the Manchester derby, and they saw the Eagles circling the Norwegian once again.

Pogba has now shared a video online discussing the injury and appeared upbeat despite being on crutches in the clip.

“As you can see, I had a slight injury,” Pogba said. “I hope it isn’t too bad.”

“I will probably do a scan in those days to see how bad it is and yes, we are here [points at crutches].

“But we will come back strong. Don’t lose confidence, the positive vibe. Keep smiling. Everything happens for a reason, we’re still lucky and I’ll be back. Thanks for the support, all the love, God bless you all and I’ll be back with a spoon.”

Estimates elsewhere suggest Pogba could stay abroad for up to two months.
