A bomb disposal team has returned to a Liverpool street that is at the center of the investigation into Sunday’s terrorist attack.

Rutland Avenue, which is located near Sefton Park in District L17, is the center of the counter-terror investigation into the taxi attack on the Women’s Hospital in Liverpool.

The bomb disposal team was seen leaving the scene at about eight in the evening, but the cordon was still in place.

Counter-Terrorism Police confirmed that Al-Salimeen is connected to both Rutland Street and Sutcliffe Street addresses after he lived on Sutcliffe Street “for some time” and “recently rented” the Rutland Avenue property.

Officers continued to retrieve “important evidence” and “important items” from the address on Rutland Street.

Police said their work at Liverpool Women’s Hospital will continue over the next few days, and they are not likely to be released before Sunday.

Assistant Police Chief Ross Jackson, of Northwest Counter Terrorism Police, said: “Counter-terrorism investigators leading the investigation into the terror incident that occurred on Sunday, November 14, have officially identified the deceased as Imad Al-Sawalimin.

He is believed to have been born in Iraq and recently lived at a Rutland Street address.

“Officers have tracked down a relative of Al-Sawalmeen and we will speak with them today.

“The hospital scene is still in place but the vehicle has been removed and officers continue to carry out fingertip searches.

“It is expected that the clips will be revealed in the coming days, but the scene will not be completely out until Sunday at least,” he added.
