Sadio Mane scares Gabriel while Virgil van Dijk sends a strong message to Thiago with Liverpool

Liverpool are back on winning ways in the Premier League with Arsenal’s trademark demolished.

Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah and Takumi Minamino all scored the Reds’ 4-0 goals against Arsenal on Saturday night.

The result means Jurgen Klopp’s side remain four points behind leaders Chelsea and have now scored an astonishing 53 goals in 18 games in all competitions this season.

But there were plenty of things that went unnoticed or under the radar during the 90 minutes at Anfield.

Mane doesn’t have any of them

It’s fair to say that the opposing parties liked trying to liquidate Sadio Mane.

Not that the approach was working, with Mane, against Atletico Madrid earlier in the month, as he scored a goal against Arsenal.

And when the Senegalese took things a bit too far in response to the continued yellow-card defiance of Ben White, Arsenal defender Gabriel faced the Liverpool player not once but twice in the aftermath.

On both occasions, Mane’s dismissive behavior meant the Brazilian didn’t hang out for long.

Van Dijk Thiago presents

Thiago Alcantara was at his best on Saturday, hoping to play and passing Arsenal in general into oblivion.

But there was a moment when he had to be reminded that a certain rhythm was needed for his stage.

With the score still scoreless, Virgil van Dijk can be seen swinging his arms toward Thiago, urging him to speed things up.

Given his outstanding display, the Spaniard has certainly received the message.

Pay a Fimino . salute

There was no Roberto Firmino with Liverpool, the Brazilian who is still on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

However, there were indications of the absent striker’s impact on the pitch.

Not least when Virgil van Dijk, parrying a rare attack for Arsenal in the second half, executed an invisible pass from inside his area as the Reds looked to clear their lines.

Bobby would definitely agree.

Klopp keeps them guessing

Jurgen Klopp hit the ball in a very alert state after the final whistle.

The Reds coach joined his players as they headed toward the cup to greet the home team’s fans after an all-out win.

And it looked like Klopp wouldn’t treat them with his triple fist pump until after first heading into the tunnel, he turned around and gave the fans what they were expecting.

He did the exact same thing at Old Trafford last month. What a tease, Jurgen.
