The Latest: BT Restocking and PS Direct Selling Out After Previous Low Today

It’s now been over a year since the Sony console arrived in the UK, in November 2020. But, as you well know, supply problems and worldwide semiconductor shortages due to the pandemic have slowed production of Sony’s new gaming console. New stock can still be hard to find, and when it does appear, the PS5 sells out quickly, both online and in store.

November got off to a slow start when it comes to PS5 restocking, with consoles only appearing in John Lewis & Partners and Game and ShopTo during the first week of the month.

However, the situation has since improved, and we’ve seen restocks recently in Very, AO, Argos, Asda and Littlewoods, as well as a drop in Sony’s new online store PS Direct. There have also been several restockings in the Game. We just hope this momentum continues as we approach Black Friday and the Christmas shopping season.

If you’re still looking for a PS5, you’ve come to the right place. Our live blog is on hand to give you the latest insight into PlayStation 5 restocks from all major UK retailers, both online and in-store, as well as providing details on rumored releases, as well as the latest PS5 games and accessories.

Why is PS5 so hard to buy now

The shortage of PS5s will likely continue over time, unfortunately. Sony has revised its estimates downward, according to recent reports.

Best Black Friday Game Deals 2021

Black Friday is upon us now, with retailers already slashing prices ahead of the big day itself, which hits November 26, 2021. As always, technology and gaming are hot topics, with discounts on consoles, games, accessories, and more. The IndyBest team will be with you every step of the way, highlighting the best deals right across the web.

Black Friday game deals will be available to everyone, from professionals like Game and ShopTo, as well as general retailers like Amazon, Very, Argos, Currys, and more. We can’t promise discounts on the still-hard-to-find Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, nor the Nintendo Switch OLED — which we reviewed recently, but you can certainly expect to see cash from games, accessories, other consoles, and digital services.

Black Friday is synonymous with deeply discounted televisions. While the sight of shoppers squabbling over cheap Sony Bravia for good luck is a thing of the past, the best Black Friday TV deals are still very much in demand online.

Earlier in November, AO, Currys and Studio kicked off their Black Friday celebrations early, sharply discounting some of their best-selling TVs by up to £500. Before Black Friday officially begins on November 26, we’ve already found some attractive deals, which we’ve rounded up in our guide to the best TV Black Friday deals.

The best 4K TV for the new PS5

While we wait for the next PS5 restock, it’s time to think about upgrading your TV. The PS5 outputs 4K video and can even handle games running at 120 frames per second. This is something not all TVs can manage, so if you want to see your new console perform at its best, a new TV can come in handy.

We’ve rounded up nine of the best 4K TVs available right now, from manufacturers including Samsung, LG, Sony, and Panasonic, among others. The good news is that you don’t need to spend a fortune to get a great 4K TV – prices for our favorites start at under £400.

The best PS5 games

In the bestselling Spider-Man: Miles Morales (£44.99, Currys.co.uk), Peter Parker has been replaced by his awkward teenage stepdaughter, Miles Morales. “The Next Generation of Spider-Man: Miles Morales revises the original formula,” said our reviewer. “This is a simplified adventure with a more focused story, much less busy action, and the lovable protagonist still trying to control his powers.”

Meanwhile, Demon’s Souls (£57.99, Currys.co.uk) on PS5 is a showcase of what the new console is capable of. “The oppressive Gothic architecture, lumbering arches and festering dungeons of this cult classic look stunning on the new hardware, while remaining flawlessly faithful to the original game’s aesthetic and dynamism,” our tester said.

1637578834 Can You Get a VPN on PS5?

While Sony doesn’t allow any VPN apps like NordVPN or ExpressVPN to be downloaded from the PlayStation Store (VPNs are not supported on the platform at all), there is still a way to use a VPN on PS5 if you want to stream geo-restricted content.

We recommend getting a VPN that has the Smart DNS feature. It’s a service offered by a number of VPN companies, including NordVPN, that lets you spoof your location on devices that don’t support a VPN. You can read our roundup of the best VPNs for more information.
