Mr. Motivator announced the death of his 12-year-old granddaughter Hadassah after a five-day battle against meningitis.

Her health and wellness coach, real name Derek Evans, said she died in the early hours of Thursday in Antigua, where she was living with her mother.

A source close to the family described their relationship as “incredibly close”.

Hadassah’s mother, Caroline Evans-Charles, is the eldest daughter of Mr. Evans.

Evans, who is from Leicester, said in a statement: “It is not meant to happen like this. The circle of life dictates that parents and grandparents go first.”

“You’re not supposed to bury your child or grandchild.”

Mr Evans said: “We have to fight back no matter what.

“I want to remind everyone to tell your loved ones every day how much you love them.”

It has been reported that Mr Evans’ wife Sandra has traveled to Antigua to be with the family and will be joining them as soon as possible.

The TV fitness trainer found fame in the early ’90s and is well known for his upbeat style and neon lycra.

He was awarded an MBE in October 2020 as part of the Queen’s postponed birthday homage, to health and fitness services after creating online home workouts during the coronavirus lockdown.
