Witness accounts collected by the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center indicated that earthquakes were felt in several countries.

“I was getting up from the bed, the bed started shaking and a few seconds later, the doors vibrated, the ceiling fans vibrated too, and the neighbors ran outside from the three-story building,” according to a witness posted on the center’s website, who lived in Bangladesh – what Approximately 146 km from the epicenter.

“This was the longest yet. Let’s just say we all woke up to an incredible alarm clock this morning,” another witness wrote in Hnahthial, India, less than 90 kilometers from the epicenter.

The USGS notes on its website that a few landslides or liquefaction are expected in the area, but it is possible that they will occur “in highly affected areas.” The USGS also estimated that there was little or no chance of people experiencing landslide or liquefaction.

It is not clear if the earthquake has reported any casualties.
