Flux viewers are interested in the return of the main characters

The penultimate episode of Doctor Who: Flux saw the return of two fan favorites, and viewers weren’t shy about sharing their excitement.

Flux: Survivors of the Flux airs tonight (November 28), as Doctor, Yaz and Dan face even greater danger in their quest for survival.

Jodie Whittaker’s final season brought back a number of characters and motifs from previous seasons and their stories, but tonight, it’s a particularly big hit with viewers.

The first is the return of the Oodkind, otherwise known as the Oodkind, an anthropomorphic human species that is easily corrupted by evil forces.

Created by Russell T Davis for the first time in the show’s second season, their comeback garnered a huge backlash from fans.

The other big comeback in this episode was UNIT, (United Intelligence Task Force), the military organization that investigates supernatural threats to the Earth.

After its debut in the 1960s, it was initially called the United Nations Intelligence Task Force, but had to change the name when the actual United Nations no longer wished to join it.

However, not all reactions to the last episode were positive. Many fans and viewers have taken to Twitter to complain that this season has been too confusing and hard to follow.

Some attributed this to trying to bring back a lot of elements from the previous series, others blamed showrunner Chris Chipnal, however more said that several big guest stars have been incorporated into the series.

This appears to reflect viewership numbers from the past five weeks, which showed fewer fans who followed each episode.

Although it only accounts for live viewers (not those who watch later), the premiere drew 4.43 million viewers, which dropped to 3.45 in the fourth episode.

It remains to be seen if this downtrend will continue, or whether the end of next week will boost the numbers again.

Doctor Who: Flux (also known as Series 13) airs weekly every Sunday night on BBC One in the UK. In the United States, the show airs on BBC America, with series 1-12 available on HBO Max.
