Scientists discover ‘trigger’ for blood clotting with AstraZeneca dose

Headache is back on the post-Covid travel checklist: Day 2 PCR tests. But this time it comes with a new pain – self-isolation until you get a negative result.

Before this Tuesday, I simply needed to book the cheapest lateral flow test available (prices dropped to £1) and stay safe knowing that – even if the result never arrives – you will do what is required. Now, however, the most important factor is timing.

Those who cannot work from home, or who are traveling with children who need to go back to school, need fast results. However, they may not want to pay hundreds of pounds per person to ensure a quick turnaround.

Test providers seem really wise to deal with this fact since the new rules for Arrivals went into effect (at 4am on November 30th). If your flight lands in time to reach the airport test center by 8pm, this will be your best route to ensuring quick results. If you arrive after this time, or too early in the morning, the clinic is the best alternative.
