Carragher reveals an important trait of Rangnick with a comparison of Klopp and Tuchel

Jamie Carragher felt Ralph Rangnick made his mark on Manchester United from the start of his debut for the club.

Rangnick, 63, took the reins for the first time on Sunday when the Red Devils hosted Crystal Palace. It wasn’t an old show from the hosts but they managed a 1-0 win. The goal came from an unexpected source as midfielder Fred fired from distance in the 77th minute.

Rangnick’s relief and happiness was evident on the sidelines as they held onto the three points. He only had two days to work with the players before facing the Eagles.

But after the comic past few weeks of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s tenure, Carragher saw a new philosophy from the start.

“I was affected by Manchester United,” he told Sky Sports. “From the fact that Rajnik put a stamp on the team from day one.

“That was a criticism of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and it’s a similarity to Klopp and Tuchel. He immediately put his stamp on him, with his system and pressure from the front.

“The top managers – certainly those German coaches who were there when the season really started – put their mark on their team in the first match, Tuchel and Klopp, two of the best coaches in Europe.

“Whatever you say about United’s performance yesterday, Rangnick put that stamp on his team.”

Project Rangnick is not a lottery enough for Cavani

Despite the possibility that times will be better at Old Trafford, one player looks set to go out in January. Edinson Cavani, 34, enjoyed an excellent first season at the club.

The Uruguay international scored 17 goals in 39 matches in all competitions, which encouraged him to stay for another season. But since Cristiano Ronaldo returned in the summer, his playing time has shrunk dramatically.

The South American player only featured twice in the Premier League out of five matches, and scored once. And according to Italy’s Tuttosport, he may be looking for an exit strategy in the winter.

He is said to be “already looking” at new clubs with the January window less than a month away. The veteran is in the final year of his contract.

Therefore, he will be free to negotiate a pre-contract with overseas clubs on January 1st. Alternatively, if the suitor is willing, an offer can be made at a discount.
