Microsoft has confirmed that Halo Infinite campaign missions cannot be replayed once they are completed – unless users start a new save file.
Aside from not being able to simply replay levels for fun, as was possible in previous Halo games through the quest select menu, the news is not good for those who complete it.
The first two Halo Infinite missions have been launched from the Zeta Halo and once they are done, there is no way to go back to them, which means that collectibles lost in the first play cannot be obtained later without starting a new game.

After these first levels, the game moves into a more open world structure, which enables players to re-visit areas and collect collectibles that they might have missed when playing previous missions.
A Microsoft spokesperson told Polygon: “The game post game gives you the option to continue exploring the wider environment, but for missions like the first two phases, where you are not on the circuit yet, you cannot restart from the same save file,” a Microsoft spokesperson told Polygon. “You will be able to get any FOBs goals, targets, [and] Audio records, but the main story missions will not be repeated.”
The skulls will remain associated with the player’s account, which means they will not be reset when a new save file is started.
VGC posted its Halo Infinite review on Monday, giving the game 4/5 stars ahead of its December 8th release.
“Halo Infinite’s transition to a more open structure feels like a fresh start for the series, with nostalgic gestures and new intros that combine to make great impact,” reads the book. “Both the campaign and the multiplayer have room for improvement, but the core experience is solid.”
