COVID-19: A man in Germany suspected of killing himself and his family over false fears of a vaccine certificate | world News

Investigators said that a man in Germany is suspected of killing his family and then killing himself because of a false vaccination certificate against the Corona virus.

The bodies of two 40-year-old children and their children, 10, 8 and 4, were found with gunshot wounds and stab wounds outside their family home in Koenigs-Westerhausen, outside Berlin, on Saturday.

Police were called to the house after being alerted by eyewitnesses who saw dead bodies.

In a farewell note found by the officers, the man said he had forged a vaccination certificate for his wife and that her employer discovered it.

Prosecutor Gernot Pantelton told dpa that the couple were afraid of arrest and the loss of their children.

German investigators suspect that the man killed his wife and children and then killed himself.

A pistol was found in the house, but it was not immediately clear if it was the weapon used to fire the fatal shots.

The case comes as Germany tightens its coronavirus restrictions amid a fourth wave, with the country’s media reporting that all five family members were in quarantine at the time.

As of last month, some workers were required to prove they had been vaccinated, cured or tested negative for COVID-19.

Last week, authorities agreed to prevent unvaccinated people from entering all but the most important businesses, such as supermarkets, pharmacies and bakeries.

The government also plans to make vaccination against the coronavirus mandatory from February.
