The US Geological Survey reported that a 2.2-magnitude earthquake was detected near Dutton, northeastern Alabama, on Saturday, December 11, 2021.
A small earthquake was detected on Saturday in northeastern Alabama, the US Geological Survey said.
According to the Geological Survey, the earthquake measured 2.2 degrees. Its epicenter was about 23.4 kilometers (14.5 mi) below the surface and about 4 kilometers (2.5 mi) southeast of the city of Dutton in Jackson County.
