The people in Wester Ross felt two earthquakes struck a few minutes away.

The first of two 2.5-magnitude quakes on Saturday was felt in Ullapool at about 17:30, followed by the second quake about five minutes later.

The earthquakes were recorded by the British Geological Survey.

Last month, a 3.3-magnitude earthquake was reported with its epicenter in Ashnamara, west of Lochgilphead in Argyll and Bute.

More than 30 people reported feeling the quake, with reports coming from as far away as Edinburgh and Ballycastle in Northern Ireland. It is also recorded in all seismographs across Ireland.

Less than a week later, a 2.2-magnitude earthquake was recorded outside Roybridge, near the Spin Bridge in Lochaber.
