LONDON (Reuters) – (This story has been officially corrected to show British Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab was wrong when he said 250 people were in hospital with Omicron. He later said 10 people were in the hospital and he had never heard of him. Question.)

British Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab said on Tuesday there are 10 people in hospital with Omicron.

Earlier, Raab told Sky News that there are at least 250 people with Omicron in hospital. He then told the BBC that nine people with Omicron were in hospital.

“I got one of the questions wrong,” Raab told ITV when asked about the set of numbers. “The numbers are one death from Omicron, 10 in hospital.”

Asked to clarify the numbers, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Justice told Reuters to contact the Ministry of Health. The Health Ministry did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
