Klopp is happy that Liverpool can continue to play – for now
Jurgen Klopp says there is simply no room in football’s crowded program to stop the Premier League in the face of a spike in Covid infections at clubs.
However, while the Liverpool boss insists that “from an ethical point of view” it should be “mandatory” to vaccinate players, he agrees that there is not much legally the authorities can do to take drastic measures to counter the spread of the outbreak.
In an emotional reaction to the crisis that wrecked the weekend’s top-flight matches, he said:
It is the duty of the moral community to be challenged. The power of persuasion must continue to be used instead of coercion. All clubs should be more open on issues The secret position of Tottenham and Manchester United is “strange” and “misleading” It is “incredible how aggressive” opponents of vaccinations is that Liverpool will lead the way in detailing their cases.

On Friday, Klopp revealed he was still awaiting second tests on Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho and Curtis Jones who missed Thursday night’s game due to a positive side-flow result.
But he insisted it would not be a secret as he believed United and Tottenham were. He said: We have nothing to hide. We know at the moment that three players may not be available.
And if they are not available we will say so. If it’s a false positive, we’ll say so and they’re available now.
“I really think sharing information is very helpful because I think all the misinformation and misinformation misleads a lot of people.
A 10-day break could have helped salvage Boxing Day matches and the Premier League season.
“Manchester United have a number of players but I have no idea who the players are, I don’t know who they are at Tottenham – we have no information, I have no idea if they trained today.
“Just say how it is and then continue from there. Is there a solution? I don’t see one at the moment, but transparency helps.”
Klopp was asked if the Premier League should be suspended to preserve the integrity of the competition, and his response was sympathetic.

“I don’t know when all these matches will be played. Where is the space for them to play? Stopping the league means losing five or six matches [in] Two weeks maybe? So, when do you want to play it?
“(At the moment) we don’t think we shouldn’t play on Sundays, frankly, but if we had six, seven, eight more cases, we wouldn’t be able to play. Who wants not to play for two weeks? It’s not that easy.
“I am not against stopping the league, I just don’t see 100 percent benefit from it. Between stopping the league and continuing there are different levels that we can talk about.”
Klopp was also enthusiastic about vaccination, and he called out against vaccination when he said: “From an ethical point of view it should be mandatory for everyone I think, but it’s not from a legal point of view if it makes sense.
“No, it’s a matter of persuasion. I am 54 – and I am a firm believer that you can convince people of the right things to do but I am not sure in this specific case.
“It’s unbelievable how aggressive the anti-purge scene is and how clear it is with all things, they obviously know better than the rest of us, it’s really tough.
“So no, I don’t think it should be legally mandatory, but morally yes.”
