Xbox series X stocks – LIVE: Restock today’s UK news from Game, Currys, Argos and more

We expect more restockings at UK retailers today

(independent)

Update (5 p.m., Friday): The Xbox Series X is in stock at Currys and Asda now. Read on for more information.

The Xbox Series X is constantly sold all over the world. Launched in November last year, Microsoft’s next-generation console is in short supply and in high demand, with little inventory sold there as soon as it comes out.

Bottlenecks in the global supply chain coupled with component parts shortages have slowed game machine production to a crawl, leaving UK shoppers wondering where to buy an Xbox.

It’s easier to find the less powerful Xbox Series X in stock, but the more advanced Xbox X is in demand and sells out within minutes of going on sale. Knowing when and where the new console will be restocked next is the key to grabbing one before it’s all captured.

That’s why we launched a Liveblog for Xbox Stock Alerts, and if you’re wondering where to buy the Xbox Series X in the UK today before Christmas, we’re ready to help. Below, we’ll update you with the latest live restock updates as they happen, as well as any news on expected restock dates, new games, accessories, and important events.

The best TVs for gaming on the Xbox series X.

To get the most out of the Xbox series X, you’ll need a 4K TV.

Many next-gen games let you choose between performance mode and graphics mode. The former lowers the level of the visuals a bit for smoother frames, while the latter allows for higher resolutions and great effects at the expense of frame rate.

If your TV is only up to 1080p, you’re not getting the most out of the new Xbox Series X. To help you upgrade your collection without breaking the budget, we’ve compiled a list of the best 4K TV deals for entertainment, movies, and games.

You can play Xbox games on your laptop

You don’t actually need an Xbox series X to play Xbox series X games, just a fast enough internet connection and a compatible streaming device.

Xbox Cloud Gaming streams games from Microsoft servers to your console, laptop, or phone, via a web browser or the Xbox app. How do cloud games work? Well, it’s basically like making a Zoom call with a game you’re controlling, which means you can jump into new games with the press of a button instead of waiting for it to install.

Cloud games require a membership to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (£32.99, Argos.co.uk), which unlocks on-demand access to over 100 games. Fortunately, finding decent laptops is much easier than finding the Xbox series X. If you’re thinking of upgrading, check out our list of the best laptops in 2021.

You should pay attention to the Xbox series X headphones.

The Xbox series X is often bundled with a gaming headset to increase the price and fend off speculation.

The console does not come with its own headset, but it is compatible with all headsets out there for the Xbox One. The Xbox Wireless Controller (£54.99, Currys.co.uk) also has a headphone jack, so you can plug in your regular headphones to play game audio through it instead of your TV, which is ideal if you’re sharing a room with someone you don’t want to to annoy him.

If you need to upgrade or don’t have your own yet, Microsoft sells the Xbox series X wireless headset separately (£89.99, Game.co.uk). Lots of third-party manufacturers make Xbox compatible headsets as well. We’ve rounded up the best gaming headphones you can buy today.
