Jimmy Ling and Sophie Happo are engaged!

Revealing the good news, former Made In Chelsea star and Strictly Jamie wrote on Instagram: “I can’t think of anything better than spending the rest of my life with you @habboosophie.”

He shared a sweet video of himself and Sophie snuggling on the couch as the New Year’s countdown can be heard in the background.

Then the camera snapped into a close-up of a fleece blanket emblazoned with the words “Mrs. Ling-to-Be”.

Then James Young’s The Happiest Year began playing, with her words: “Thank you for the happiest year of my life.”

Jimmy popped the question

Jimmy’s fans and famous friends rushed to congratulate them, and Giovanna Fletcher shared: “Big congratulations! xxxxx”

While fellow MIC star Georgia “Toff” Toffolo penned: “Oh, I’m so glad how cool XX is.”

Delicate professionals like Dianne Buswell, Neil Jones and Gorka Marquez also offered their congratulations, as did Chris Hughes and Gabby Allen of Love Island.

Sophie was hoping for a proposal for New York City

It comes after Sophie said she was hoping Jimmy would pop the question on New Years Eve.

Sophie, 28, also starred in the reality show, and the 32-year-old Jamie has been together for two years and has been living with each other since the lockdown began.

She told Closer magazine: “I can’t wait for Christmas if it goes, it will be so special because of the shutdown last year.

“I’m planning to go skiing with my family and Jimmy will be in the same place so we can get together, it’s the best of both worlds.”

She added, “I used to be a party girl, but these days I’m pretty healthy. I don’t drink much, but when I do, I go enjoy it. So maybe I’ll do it on New Years Eve.” Who knows… Maybe Jimmy will suggest !”

Earlier this year, Jamie admitted to being involved in Strictly Makes Him a Better Man.

He wrote in his autobiography I can point out that he was an “absolute lover” in his youth.
