Rose Aaling-Ellis was crowned the winner of this year’s history-making Strictly Come Dancing competition.
Aaling Ellis, along with pro Giovanni Bernice, beat former British Bake Off winner John White for the coveted Globe Ball award, who was also making history as part of the show’s first men-only partnership.
Presenter AJ Odudu also made it to the bottom three, but was forced to withdraw from the competition on Friday after injuring her foot during the week.

EastEnders star Ayling-Ellis performed a quick Frozen-inspired move, as well as a dance of the couple’s choice (which included 10 seconds of silence to reflect her handicap) during the final match.
She was the contestant with the most points of 40 during the competition, and was an early favorite to win the title.
Ayling-Ellis also performed in the traditional dance show, inspired by Romeo and Juliet, on the show, and scored another 40 points for her.
After the announcement, Bernice said Ayling Ellis was “amazing,” adding, “Thank you to this beautiful young lady who made all my dreams come true.

“It took me seven years to get this thing. [the trophy] And you became the best dancer, the best fellow I could ask for, you’re a dream, so thank you for everything.”
She told Bernice, “I just want to say you’re so amazing, you’ve made me believe in myself more than I did in myself.
“You’re a great teacher and a great friend. We’ve been through so much, and I just want you to know that you’ll always have a part of my heart.”
1:26 Ayling-Ellis “proud” of making history in Strictly
A few weeks ago, during a break in rehearsals, Ayling-Ellis told Sky News how proud she was to be part of the last group of artists.
“It’s good to be a part of history, being the first deaf [contestant] “Strictly,” she said. “I think it is very important because it is an opportunity to be shown on such a large platform with millions of people watching, and to change their perception of what they think deaf people are like. I am very proud of that.”
Responding to the win, the chief executive of the Royal National Institute of the Deaf, Mark Atkinson, said: “Tonight, Rose has not only won the UK’s biggest television dance competition, she has also captured the hearts of the nation.
Rose made history as the first deaf contestant on Strictly, and over the past 13 weeks, she has given millions of viewers insight into her world, astonishing judges with her incredible dance.
“Her victory is not just a personal achievement, but also a victory for the deaf community. She has shown that deaf people can do anything, if the community addresses these barriers and provides the right access and support.
Giovanni was a great example of this, working with Rose and adapting his teaching style to help her succeed.

However, the 2021 edition was not without hiccups, and saw two celebrities, McFly’s Tom Fletcher and comedian Judi Love, having to spend a week in solitude during the show.
Former rugby player Ugo Mooney also spent a week on the sidelines with a back injury, with Peep Show star Robert Webb withdrawing entirely on the advice of a doctor.
Earlier on Saturday, Mooney told Sky News that he believes celebrities who haven’t been vaccinated are “selfish,” saying at a vaccination center “it’s really important to do the right thing, not just for me but for everyone else as well.” .
