Shane Naylor, general manager, said they sold out their three-day Christmas package and were fully booked.

He shared his plight when he posted a video online showing row after row of Christmas and dinner reservations with the word “Cancelled” next to it – and he said around 4,000 people would not turn up now.

An angry Tim criticized the government for proposing new restrictions while not providing any support for businesses.

Tim, whose main pub is Somers Town Coffee House near Euston, London, said: “The cancellations are in all four pubs, but driven by The Somers Town Coffee House, with 3,836 guests cancelled since Boris made the announcements last week.

“It’s a problem that simply shouldn’t exist – support should have been announced with restrictions and messages from public health and government.

“It’s silly to say work from home, but head to office parties.”
