“For 17 years, the four of us have been on a wonderful trip from Il Divo together, and we will miss our dear friend.
“We hope and pray that his beautiful soul rests in peace. With love – David, Sebastian and Urs.”
Marin has reportedly been taken to hospital in Manchester in recent days and is believed to be in the intensive care unit, although the cause of his death or the nature of his illness have not been revealed.
The group had already postponed the rest of their tour dates in hopes of Marinette recovering, and was on stage earlier this month.
Designed by Simon Cowell in 2003, signed to his Syco brand, Il Divo went on to release 10 studio albums and convert 30 million records.
In his personal life, the baritone was married to Geraldine Larosa, whom he held at Disneyland in California in 2006, before their divorce in 2009.

Away from Il Divo, the Spaniard has performed in a number of musicals including Les Miserables, Grease, and Beauty And The Beast.
Lauren Kelly was among those who left a salute to the singer, saying on Twitter: “This is so sad. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Carlos and El Divo so many times over the years. It’s been a classy act. Thoughts with everyone who loved him.”
Actor Michael Xavier also added his regards, writing: “I am so sorry to hear this. Sending my love and thoughts to all of you and of course to Carlos’s family and loved ones.
Spanish director Santiago Segura said: “Terrible and devastating news, the passing of Carlos Marin, an outstanding voice and an excellent man, friendly, kind, full of enthusiasm and sympathy and a very kind person.
“My condolences to his family and friends.”
