The Premier League has confirmed that 77% of its players have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
And in a statement confirming that the season will continue over the festive period amid calls for a fire break, the First Division chiefs also confirmed that 16% of players have not been stabbed at all, and the rest have at least one at this point.
A total of nine Premier League matches have been postponed due to the outbreak over the past week.
The association added that player vaccination rates “will now be announced at the end of each month, starting in January”.
Managers like Jurgen Klopp have urged their team and staff to receive their booster vaccinations, but it is not known how many players have been hit twice and had a booster because the Omicron type of coronavirus is spreading rapidly across the UK.

A Premier League statement read: “It was confirmed at today’s Premier League club meeting that while acknowledging that a number of clubs are experiencing the COVID-19 outbreak and challenges, it is the league’s collective intent to continue the current fixture schedule wherever possible.
“The health and well-being of all involved remains our top priority, and the association will continue to monitor and reflect public health guidance, always proceeding with caution.
“A range of issues were discussed at this afternoon’s meeting, including adapting the Premier League COVID-19 postponement process in response to the impact of the Omicron variable.
The Association also confirmed to its clubs today that 92 percent of players and club employees received one, two or three doses of vaccinations against the emerging corona virus, with 84 percent of the players on the vaccination journey.

“The League continues to work with clubs to encourage vaccination among players and club staff, as well as to promote government public health vaccination messages for clubs and the wider public.
“Specific details of clubs or individuals will not be provided by the league, and player vaccination rates will now be announced at the end of each month, starting in January.”

Meanwhile, the English Football League will continue as usual over Christmas, and the Football Association confirmed that replays in the third and fourth rounds of the FA Cup will be canceled, helping to reduce match congestion in 2022.
Their statement read: “This extraordinary decision was approved by the FA Board of Directors on Friday 17 December and taken in the broader interest of English football to mitigate the potential for match congestion following several delays in recent days and continuing uncertainty ahead due to COVID-19.
“A tie will be played in Rounds 3 and 4 of this season’s competition to the end of the day, with extra time and penalties if necessary.
“The replay will return until the fourth round of the Emirates Football Cup from the 2022-23 season onwards.”
