Earthquakes rock Southern California on Christmas Eve

Southern California – A series of earthquakes shook Southern California before the long weekend.

According to the US Geological Survey, a 3.2-magnitude earthquake occurred at 4:44 am Thursday morning near Aguanga, about 17.4 miles southeast of Temecula and 20.9 miles northeast of Escondido. It was about 2.5 miles (4.8 kilometers) deep.

The earthquake was reported after a 2.5-magnitude earthquake struck Little Creek in the San Gabriel Mountains in San Bernardino County at 4:16 a.m. Thursday.

Two more earthquakes were reported near the Salton Sea on Wednesday night, according to the US Geological Survey. The first, with a magnitude of 2.6, hit at 6:47 p.m. 6 miles northwest of Borrego Springs. The second missile struck with a force of 2.9 degrees at 9:04 p.m. 12 miles west of Westmoreland.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
