MONTREAL – Quebecers may have felt the floor, windows and walls shaking on Tuesday night as a 4.1-magnitude earthquake rocked the area around Val d’Or.
The quake occurred 40 km northwest of the city, or nearly 600 km northwest of Montreal.
It struck at about 6:22 p.m. and was located 10 kilometers below the Earth’s surface, according to Earthquake Canada magazine.
Earthquakes measuring 4.1 are considered moderate on the intensity scale. It is not yet clear if any significant damage has occurred.
