Dave Chisnall becomes the latest player to withdraw from the tournament after testing positive for Covid-19
Dave Chisnall becomes the third player to withdraw from the 2022 PDC World Championship due to a positive Covid-19 test.
Chessy, who reached the semi-finals last year, was forced to withdraw meaning Luke Humphreys was bid farewell to the fourth round.
Dave Chisnall withdrew from the William Hill World Darts after testing positive for Covid-19 before his match with Luke Humphries.
Humphries will receive a farewell until the round of 16, and the Wednesday afternoon session will continue with two matches.

This comes after Michael van Gerwin and Vincent van der Voort withdrew.
Humphreys qualified for the Round of 16, where he will face Chris Dobby, who also reached the fourth round thanks to a farewell.
As a result, there were only two games in the Wednesday afternoon session. The seventh and tenth seeds were perturbed on the grand stage. Jose de Sousa fell in the final deciding set to Alan Sutar, while the white Callan Reds fell to Nathan Aspinal.
Price “will not vary” with postponement
Gerwin Price called for the two worlds to be postponed
The volume of positive testing has caused a huge backlash, with top seed and defending champion Jeroen Price considering the possibility of postponing the tournament.
“The tournament must be postponed,” the Welsh man wrote on Instagram.
‘The Iceman’, who was unable to compete in the 2021 Premier League after contracting Covid-19, continued: “Now this tournament is being appreciated (sic). I prefer to play the best to be the best, I feel completely sick. Players have to withdraw due to Covid.” …”
He then explained, “I’ve been in their position so I feel withdrawn from the players. A lot of hard work has gone into organizing events like the World Championships so maybe postponing isn’t the best option, but one I don’t agree with. It’s time to keep myself safe and away. About the connection. Keep me all safe.”
The PDC said there are currently no planned discussions to postpone the tournament, and reminded players not to interact with fans before or after matches.
Another big blow for this world championship. Dave Chisnall is out now due to a positive Covid test.

Mark Webster responded to the news of Schisnal’s withdrawal
Mark Webster responded to the news of Schisnal’s withdrawal
“We spoke last night – we were hoping it would. Unfortunately, we lost Dave today,” said Mark Webster, analyst at Sky Sports.
“First of all, I hope Dave gets better. It’s just a shame about the event. We lost a semi-finalist from last year. Dave Chisnall would have come in here thinking, ‘This is my time.’ Unfortunately, he’s not going to go.” to get that chance.
“Really hypothetically, we have an interesting relationship with Chris Dobby and Luke Humphreys. Not in the way they wanted.
“Hopefully it’s the last, because it doesn’t help the event. It’s not great for the audience watching. We don’t want to keep losing players. I hope it’s the last now. And hopefully, Dave gets better.”
