Two more earthquakes hit near Colombia, where people have felt seven since Monday.

The latest earthquake hit Tuesday in the Elgin region, about 20 miles northeast of Colombia, WLTX-TV reported. One was an earthquake of magnitude 2.5 and the other of magnitude 2.36.

The South Carolina Department of Emergency Management said the state typically averages 20 earthquakes each year.

Elgin lies along a large fault system that stretches from Georgia through Carolina to Virginia, said Stephen Jaume, a professor in the Department of Geology at the College of Charleston.
