Antonio Brown is no longer a Tampa Bay Buccaneer player, coach Bruce Ariane says, after wide receiver left the field during Sunday’s 28-24 win against the New York Jets.

Brown removed his shoulder and shirt, ran across the end zone and headed to the team’s locker room midway through the third quarter of Sunday’s game at MetLife Stadium.

The Buccaneers were delayed 24-10 at the time and were leading the attack, but Brown was not among the players in the game.

Asked about Brown in his post-match press conference, Arians said: “He’s no longer a player.

“This is the end of the story.”

According to FOX, Brown is “angry” about something and cannot be persuaded to stay with the team on the sidelines.

Teammate Mike Evans, receiver, tried to prevent Brown from taking off his shoulder cushions, but to no avail.

Brown was seen standing in the end zone, making a “peace out” gesture to the crowd, as teams played on the other side of the field.

Brown had three receptions on five goals for 26 yards by the time he left. He has 42 passes for 545 yards and four touchdowns in seven games this season.

The 33-year-old has been plagued by a string of off-court accidents, distractions and legal problems dating back to the start of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Most recently, Brown was suspended for three games by the NFL this season for falsifying a COVID-19 vaccine ticket.

Brown spent the first half of the 2020 season on hold due to multiple violations of the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy. He surrendered to police in Florida in January 2020 on charges of battery, unmanned transportation burglary, and criminal corruption.

He was released by the New England Patriots after one match in 2019 over allegations of sexual misconduct and threatening text messages sent to the accused. He chose the New England Brown after he was released by the then-Oakland Raiders before playing the game due to several controversies.
