Virginia Joffrey told me in 2001 she slept with Prince Andrew, says witness | Prince Andrew

Caroline Andriano, who testified at the trial of sex smuggler Gislaine Maxwell in New York last month, alleged that Virginia Joffrey told her in 2001 that she slept with Prince Andrew.

The allegations, made in an interview with the Daily Mail, will add to the pressure on the prince, as it is a contemporary account of his alleged sexual assault of 17-year-old Joffrey. He has vigorously denied the allegations and his attorneys urged a US judge to dismiss Giuffre’s civil suit against him.

Andriano, who was 14 and lives in Florida, said Joffrey (formerly Virginia Roberts, before her marriage) texted her in 2001 from London, who claimed she slept with the prince.

The charges come after Andriano, 35, waived her legal right to remain anonymous to tell the full story of her sexual assault and abuse from the ages of 14 to 17 at the £13m child sex convict Jeffrey Epstein’s mansion. in Palm Beach, Florida.

Andriano previously gave evidence anonymously at Maxwell’s trial, along with two other women who chose not to be identified, and Annie Farmer, 42, who chose to testify publicly. At the trial, Andriano testified as “Caroline” and said it was Joffrey who introduced her to Maxwell and Epstein at the age of 14.

In her Mail interview, Andriano recalled that Giuffre texted her in 2001 saying, “You’ll never guess who I’m with…” Andriano replied, “Who?”

Andriano told The Mail:[Giuffre] He said, “I’m in London with Jeffrey and Maxwell and Prince Andrew.”

She said they were going to dinner. I kind of didn’t believe her, but I had no reason not to. I thought it was a little farfetched, but then again, she knew the rich and she’d go to fancy parties and things like that.”

Andriano said she asked Joffrey if she was going to the palace. She said: I slept with him. She doesn’t seem bothered by that. “I thought it was cool,” Andriano recalls.

Andriano told the Post that Joffrey had sent a picture of her with the prince via text message. The Guardian has not been able to independently verify the allegations.

According to the Post, representatives for the prince declined to comment.

Maxwell, 60, was convicted of sex trafficking at her federal trial in Manhattan on Wednesday afternoon. She was arrested in July 2020 for being involved in the sexual assault of her ex-boyfriend Epstein on teenage girls.

Andriano waived her right to remain anonymous in the mail interview.
