Holly Willoughby is said to have been given time off from homework this morning so she can focus on the new BBC series.

The 40-year-old host will join comedian Lee Mack on new survival show Wim Hof’s Superstar Survival, which will see celebrities embark on an epic adventure and face “a unique test of mental strength like no other.”

According to The Sun, the star will travel to southern Europe on January 17 – the day after Dancing on Ice debuted.

A source said: ‘She has high career ambitions and is starting the year the way she wants to continue.

However, she absolutely loves this morning and her on-screen partnership with Philip, so it’s not going anywhere in the long run. She is just grateful that the ITV chiefs have given her the freedom to do her own projects.

This isn’t the first time Holly has had to step away from the popular morning show, which includes Philip Schofield as co-host, interfering with Ant McPartlin’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here in 2018.

The source added, “Holi did an excellent job as Ant and it was one of the highlights of that year.”

The writer recently revealed her hope that 2022 will return a bit to normal after the frenetic year of 2021.

She wrote: “Happy New Year…what am I wishing for…a bit of consistent normalcy…

“I know the only constant is the self but it would be nice if 2022 could leave us off the rollercoaster a bit.”

She ended the message by sending love to all her family, friends and followers for the New Year.
