Labor has accused Boris Johnson of misleading or jamming repeatedly in the House of Commons and in interviews during questions about lockdown violations in Downing Street. Here are the moments when Johnson denied breaking the rules.

After the first Mirror story broke about Christmas parties in Downing Street:

“What I can say to the gentleman and educated man is that all directions were followed completely in No. 10.”

When asked why his account did not explain the allegations, Johnson said:

“Because I told you and what I want to repeat…the guidance is there and I’m very, very keen that people understand this.”

When asked about the Downing Street concerts in December, the prime minister said:

“All guidelines were observed.”

After the Allegra Stratton video was released by ITV News:

“I apologize for the impression that employees in Downing Street are taking this very seriously. I am sick and angry with myself, but I repeat what I said to him: I have been reassured time and time again that the rules have not been broken. I repeat that I have received repeated assurances since the appearance of these The allegations that there is no party and that the Covid rules have not been violated.”

When asked why Investigation No. 10 was not extended:

“…all the evidence I can see, the people in this building have kept abiding by the rules…if that turns out not to be the case…and people want to bring it to my attention or to the police…then of course that would be appropriate penalties…”
