An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale struck Calabria, Italy

There are no reports of injuries or damage in the Calabria earthquake.

The Calabria region of southern Italy was hit by a 4.3-magnitude earthquake Thursday morning, according to the National Institute of Geology and Volcanology (INGV).

The earthquake hit the southwest coast of Calabria – where it hit Catanzaro, Vibo Valentia, Reggio di Calabria – at 10.19 on January 20, at a depth of about 10 km.

The civil protection authorities did not report any damages, and there were no reports of injuries.

The Italian newspaper La Repubblica reported that the earthquake led to the evacuation of many schools and public offices in the area.

The Italian news agency ANSA reported that the quake was strongly felt in Lamezia Terme and Catanzaro.
