Arnold Schwarzenegger was involved in a multi-vehicle accident that resulted in a woman being taken to hospital.

The movie star, former bodybuilder and California governor is pictured at the scene, in photos shared by TMZ, in Los Angeles on Friday afternoon.

A spokesman for Schwarzenegger told the BBC that the actor was behind the wheel of his car at the time of the accident but was unhurt.

“Fine, his only concern now is the injured woman,” a representative of the actor told People’s Scwarzenegger magazine.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that the four-car crash occurred just after 4:30 p.m. local time on Sunset Boulevard.

“There was a collision around 4.35pm on Sunset and Allenford Street,” a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson said.

“It was a four-car crash (and) the fire departments and paramedics took a woman to a local hospital with a scratch on her head.

“Neither alcohol nor drugs was a factor in this and all parties remained at the scene.”
