Stoaway alive in a nose wheel during South Africa trip to the Netherlands | Holland

Dutch military police said a stowaway was discovered in the wheel section under the nose of a cargo plane that arrived at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport from South Africa on Sunday.

“The man is doing well given the circumstances and has been taken to hospital,” Dutch border control police said in a statement.

A police spokesman said the man’s age and nationality had not yet been determined. “Our first concern, of course,” they said, “was his health.” “It is certainly very unusual for someone to be able to survive the cold at such a height – very unusual.”

A Cargolux spokesperson confirmed in an email that the stowaway was on a flight operated by Cargolux Italia. They said: “We are not in a position to make any further comment until the authorities and the airline have completed their investigations.”

The only Cargolux cargo flight that arrived in Schiphol on Sunday was a Boeing 747 cargo plane that flew from Johannesburg and had a layover in Nairobi, Kenya, according to Schiphol’s website and flight tracking data.

An airport spokesman declined to answer questions about the accident.
