Grant Shapps said he’s spoken to peers around the world and it’s likely that the most popular vacation destinations will require travelers to get a booster shot to be considered fully immune.
But change is not likely to come before summer.

“Other countries are increasingly asking for reinforcements to go there,” Shapps told LBC.

“So it’s an important message for people who are listening, especially maybe young people who might be thinking ‘Oh, I didn’t bother with a booster, I was stabbed but I didn’t bother with a booster’, get the boost because this summer, from speaking to my peers around the world in Europe And elsewhere, if you want to travel, say go to Spain on vacation this summer, they’ll almost certainly need a booster shot.
“But for now, full vaccination just means your first and second dose, and that’s it, and you’ll use the NHS to show you your case.”
This comes as the government has announced changes to coronavirus travel rules.
People arriving in England or Scotland from abroad will not have to take Covid tests if they are fully vaccinated.
All travelers have to do is fill out the passenger locator form.
Changes will come from 4am on February 11th in time for the half term break.
The rules have also been relaxed for unvaccinated travelers, who will no longer have to take a test on day eight or self-isolate.
However, they will still need pre-departure and second day tests.
